DESCRIPTION:Invitation to the Swiss Doctoral School of Science Education (4. SDDSE)\nas ETH Winter School@Monte Verità (20-23/1/2019)\nA. Müller (Unige)\, A. Vaterlaus (ETHZ)\n  \nKEY TOPICS AND FOCUS OF THE WINTER SCHOOL \nThe program will have a focus on the following key topics: \n\nCurrent research in the field\, i.e. important theoretical developments and empirical work (such as about learning tasks\, Context Based Science Education\, gender sensitive teaching\, etc.\, new learning technologies\, the role of history and philosophy of science for science learning\, etc.).\nMethods relevant for current research in science education and for research projects of participants\, such selected topics of classical test theory\, power and effect size analysis\, item response theory\, domain specific tests\, qualitative methods\, etc. (applied to topics of common interest or projects of participants).\nPresentation and discussion workshop component about the individual theses\, including project specific counseling by the supervisor group and invited experts.\nScientific professionalization as supplementary component\, eg. modules on scientific writing\, project and self-management\, gender equality support in science education research\, networking and internationalization of research (all with respect to science education and the projects of the participants).\n\nThe winter school is organized in cooperation with the Swiss association of science education research (DiNat)\, with input from researchers in this network\, and from experts invited from abroad. \nMAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE ETH WINTER SCHOOL \nClosely linked to the above key topics\, the main objectives are as follows: \n– to provide a thorough and critical understanding of selected current background theories \n– to provide a firm grasp of a selection of state-of-art methods (including software use) \n– to foster key competences for doing research (eg. literature research\, scientific English\, etc.) \n– to provide an occasion to gain experience for presentation and discussion of research\, to obtain expert feedback and counseling for the own project\, to tie professional contacts on a national and international level \nIn-depth knowledge about theoretical background and methodology is on the one hand supposed to allow for links or transfer to the own study of the participants\, but on the other hand also to provide the future expert a broader view of the field\, in order to prevent a narrow perspective and compartmentalization. \nEXPECTED SCIENTIFIC IMPACT RESULTING FROM THE 4. SDSSE \nResearch in science education in Switzerland currently undergoes a highly dynamic development\, with promotion of young researchers\, fostering research-practice synergy\, and strengthening an evidence-based approach in science education in schools and in science teacher education as important objectives. DESCRIPTION:Première journée du programme doctoral romand en didactique des disciplines : \nLes doctoriales du 2Cr2D – Présentation des thèses romandes en cours en didactique disciplinaire \nLe 26 octobre 2018 – HEP FRIBOURG \nLa première journée du nouveau programme doctoral complémentaire en didactique des disciplines relié au 2Cr2D aura lieu le 26 octobre 2018. Il s’agit de doctoriales où tou-te-s les doctorant-e-s romand-e-s en didactique sont invité-e-s à présenter leur travail de thèse\, quel que soit l’état d’avancement de leur projet. Cette journée de lancement du programme servira essentiellement de moment de rencontre et de partage autour des thèses didactiques qui se font en Suisse romande. L’ensemble des chercheur-e-s didacticien-ne-s sont invité-e-s à participer à cette journée. \nLa didactique\, comme discipline de recherche autonome\, entretient des relations à des contextes variés\, parmi lesquels les autres disciplines de recherche\, les matières scolaires et les pratiques de classe. Bertrand Daunay (Université de Lille)\, dans la conférence d’ouverture\, proposera une formalisation de la didactique qui rende compte de ces diverses relations\, en interrogeant les conditions qui rendent possible à la fois son autonomie disciplinaire et son ouverture à d’autres champs. Par une réflexion qui empruntera à l’histoire de la discipline et à son expérience de chercheur\, il tentera d’identifier les fragilités et les forces épistémologiques et institutionnelles de la discipline. \nLa suite de la journée sera consacrée aux présentations des doctorant-e-s et à la discussion de leurs projets\, dans le but de construire une vue d’ensemble des thèses de la relève romande en didactique. Elle sera aussi la première occasion de constituer la communauté romande des doctorant-e-s en didactiques. \nPour la partie communication de la journée\, tou-te-s les doctorant-e-s didacticien-ne-s romand-e-s sont invité-e-s à soumettre une proposition de communication qui sera intégrée dans le programme de la journée. Les résumés sont à envoyer pour le 1e septembre à Orianna Franck selon les modalités suivantes: les propositions de communication comportent un titre\, le nom et prénom de l’auteur-e\, l’affiliation institutionnelle\, le domaine ou la discipline didactique de la thèse et un résumé de maximum 500 mots.
